Topic Purpose

The Caro-Kann is the most solid defense for Black against e4. World Champion Karpov specialized in this defense. Other world champions who used it were Capablanca, Botvinnik, Tal, Petrosian, Kasparov, and Anand. We will study the strategies of the Caro-Kann and all of the variations that White plays against it.
